I just received my government social security statement. They have recorded my working years ever since I was a young kid in high school from 1970-2007. Now, that’s a huge period of time…37 years. Now, we have to be honest, the real work years started about 1980 after college so that’s still a long 27 years.
I’m 54, as of August 3, and the letter goes on to show that my estimated benefits at age 62 will be $1,431 per month.
